Industrial Gate Free Zone Signs Memorandum of Understanding with the Royal Botanic Garden
IGFZ has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Royal Botanic Garden to strengthen cooperation in environmental sustainability and green space development through the establishment of a botanical garden within the IGFZ premises.
The MoU was signed on behalf of IGFZ by its General Manager, Eng. Nawras Shaqam, and on behalf of the Royal Botanic Garden by its Director General, Eng. Mohammad Shahbaz.
The MoU aims to establish a botanical garden featuring a selection of native and aromatic plant species suited to the local environment, contributing to biodiversity conservation while creating a sustainable green space for employees and visitors and reflecting both parties' commitment to environmentally responsible practices.
Under the agreement, the Royal Botanic Garden will develop the landscaping designs for the garden and provide the appropriate plant species along with informational signage. IGFZ will oversee the implementation of the project and install a recognition plaque acknowledging the Royal Botanic Garden's contribution to the establishment of the garden.
This partnership reflects the shared commitment of both parties to expanding cooperation, promoting environmental sustainability, and integrating nature-based solutions into industrial development in line with sustainable development principles, while enhancing the quality and attractiveness of the working environment.
